HOW TO PARTECIPATE

In YOCOCU 2018 all the different entities working in the field of cultural heritage – professionals, associations and institutions –  are invited to take part in the establishment of a new line of communication where citizens are the main charters. In order to reach this aim, YOCOCU2018 involves special sessions and new ways to contribute to the conference:

A) Professionals

Contributions related to characterisation, diagnostic, conservation and restoration of cultural heritage are welcome. We encourage participants to explore different topics (e.g. contemporary art and industrial heritage) as well as present new products, case studies, educational projects and other activities.

To participate:

1)      Send Us Your Videos! (facultative)

You can take part in this new approach by sending us a short video  (max 3 min) in English where you describe your contribution (case study, research) as shown in the following video: http://www.yococu2018.com/2017/07/10/1send-us-your-video/

The video should be send using Wetransfer to info@yococu.com

2)      Submit your short paper (required)

You must send us your short paper (max. 4 pages, including references), using the template *docx.

 

B) Associations/Institutions/Conservation Institutes/Schools

Associations and institutes interested in presenting their projects and activities can send a short summary of their activities.

To participate:

You must send us a short description (max 4 pages) presenting the objectives and results of your projects.

YOCOCU2018 is free to attend for residents.

D) Volunteers

Would You Like to Volunteer?

All pre-conference and conference sessions require a volunteer. The selected volunteers access YOCOCU2018 for free.

E) Sponsors

In YOCOCU2018 the sponsors are actively involved in the conference and one of the session is dedicated to them. The sponsors can also take part to the scientific sessions by presenting their short paper as described in the relative session.

 

Video

Together with the video and the short paper, the participants (professionals, associations and institutions) are required to send a picture of themselves which will be used to access the videos on the conference website.

 

Submitted papers and contributions 

Submitted papers and contributions will be reviewed and selected by the Scientific Organising Committee for oral or poster presentation and for the other conference activities. The deadline to submit short papers and contributions is the 5th December 2018.

The notification of acceptance will be sent via email after Christmas holidays by the 8th of January 2018.

After that, there is time to register to the conference taking advantage of the early bird registration fees until the 22nd of February 2018.

Authors are kindly asked to register before the 25th February 2018 in order to be included in the conference programme.

The Online Registration will close 2 weeks before the conference. It will still be possible to register on site during the opening hours of the registration desk.

The submission of short paper/contribution is independent of registration but accepted authors must register online by the 25th February 2018.

All short papers are published in the Proceeding book available for the conference attendees. All abstracts are included in the full version of the Abstract book available as pdf file on the USB-pen provided in the conference bag.

Abstract content is responsibility of the submitting author.

 

Citizens

The participation to the conference is free for all residents upon registration. Residents don’t have access to the conference material and to the lunch but they can benefit from coffee breaks.

 

Special sessions:

  • Cultural Heritage LAB – Divulgation of cultural heritage conservation

In this edition of the conference YOCOCU organises a divulgation activity on cultural heritage conservation where the participants can develop interactive laboratories which will involve citizens and, in particular, local schools. Participants interested in taking part to this activity must specify it in the registration form. The space will be made available by YOCOCU but the material and the equipment needed are responsibility of the participants.

  • Open your art

Private citizens and participants, upon booking, can bring their own material (samples, paintings and other objects) in order study them using the diagnostic analysis and the other services available from the sponsors. The professionals taking part to the conference can contribute to the session by providing additional information and specific knowledge.

  • Living Lab Session

 The participants can use the Living Lab Session to show the techniques and materials used in their research This session will take part together with the Poster session.

A walking tour of Matera with analysis of the monuments, identification of the successes, problems and future challenges.

We believe that every single contribution is of extreme importance for the conference and can provide new and interesting approaches to it.

 

 

What is included in the registration

A full registration fee includes

  • An electronic copy of the YOCOCU conference proceedings;
  • Plenary, dialogue/poster, oral sessions (technical tracks, special sessions, special presentation only sessions, panel discussions)
  • Morning and afternoon breaks and

 

A student registration fee includes the same items.

The conference social events are not included, a hard copy of the conference proceedings, transport and accommodation expenses are not included in the registration fee.

Register three people and the fourth registration is FREE!

Every fourth person who registers from your research group, team or office may attend YOCOCU 2018 at no extra cost.

All team members must register at the same time.

*Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteers are responsible for welcoming the participants and for the distribution of the registration materials. Attendees will rely on you for all the information, so please familiarize yourself with the conference schedules, the Conference Onsite Guide, the locations of the sessions and of the social events. Some of the volunteers will be responsible for checking in and assisting exhibitors and encouraging participants to take active part to the sessions. Volunteers will not be tweeting as official representatives of Learning Forward but they will coordinate with Learning Forward staff to ensure consistency of messages.
